Weekend Summary – 4 Out Of 4!
It was a fine weekend for the Myreside Men with 4 League fixtures for the 3 sides and 4 victories!
On Saturday the 1st XI travelled to Clydesdale and recorded a 4 wicket victory chasing the hosts 228-7, Vijay Saisubramanian took 3-46 whilst Ryan Flannigan led from the front with a knock of 81.
The 3rd XI won back to back games for the first time this year when they defeated Falkland 3s, bowling first Mark Williamson took two early wickets before Ross Brooks and Geoff Harding worked through the middle order. Under 13 squad member Jamie Cousin polished off the innings taking the final wicket with his first ball caught at cover by his father Mike as the visitors were dismissed for 60. ‘Sonians managed to get over the line whilst not being overly convincing in a 4 wicket win.
The 2nd XI saw off Glenrothes at Myreside shooting out the visitors for 67 and winning by 7 wickets. Whilst all the bowlers picked up wickets it was spinner Chris Cash who produced figures of 3-7 off his 3 overs after the seamers had hit excellent areas with 7 of the visiting batsmen bowled.
On Sunday the 1st XI hosted the National Academy, with Vijay Saisubramanian unavailable former GWC pupil and talented spinner Nick Boorman made his SNCL debut and finished with figures of 4-27 bowling in tandem with the frugal Ross Paxton (2-28) as the Academy slumped from 138-4 to 170 all out.
In reply ‘Sonians, under the watchful eye of former WCC Professional and Australian Captain Kim Hughes from the boundary edge powered to an 8 wicket victory with Flannigan (55) again leading from the front and Tim Weston 54* and Chubby 35* seeing the boys home with 7 overs to spare.

Well done all! Now only we need is 5 solid weeks of rain and the 1sts and 2nds will be league champs!
