The Scotland selectors have picked two squads for their first assignments of 2010.
A squad of 13, led by Gordon Drummond, will leave for Kenya on January 17 to prepare for their ICC Intercontinental Cup tie against the Kenyans, which is being played in Nairobi from January 25 to 28.
This squad reflects the youthful nature of recent Scottish sides, as the team looks to build on its current top position in the Intercontinental Cup league table. With some senior players unavailable for this leg of the tour, it gives further opportunities for players such as Ewan Chalmers, Mathew Parker and Stuart Chalmers. Simon Smith returns as the national wicketkeeper, following his successful shoulder surgery in August.
The full squads is as follows:
Intercontinental Cup in Nairobi (January 25-28):
Gordon Drummond (captain), Richie Berrington, Kyle Coetzer, Euan Chalmers, Stuart Chalmers, Gordon Goudie, Majid Haq, Douglas Lockhart, Ross Lyons, Dewald Nel, Mathew Parker, Qasim Sheikh, Simon Smith.
