‘Sonians Ease Past Greenock
When a game is concluded in the 29th over of play at 3.10pm there can be very little to fill a match report with, however, there were a few glowing highlights to speak of.

Upon winning the toss and choosing to bat, Greenock, without the services of the highly sought after Richie Berrington, must have been expecting there promising youngsters to put a decent total on the board.
Unfortunately for visiting captain Kevin MacLaren this was not to be the case with the board soon reading 0 for 2. Things only got worse when Stuart Chalmers and Steve Paige took over from Paddy Sadler and Mike Legget. Chalmers was the destroyer-in-chief picking up 5-26, twice finding himself on a hat trick only to see his best efforts thwarted. Greenock’s meagre innings concluded in the 19th over with only 59 on the board.
The Watsonian chase was never likely to be particularly drawn out, and so it proved. James Easton (10) was the only casualty falling caught at fine leg. Ryan Flannigan and Tim Weston (15*) saw the innings to it’s conclusion in the 9th over with a powerful slash through cover-point, Flannigan finishing with fast paced 32 not out.
Next weekend the newly table-topping Myreside men will travel north to take on Aberdeenshire in a fixture that has never been short of intrigue.
