Quote ‘Most no balls – Stuart Nimmo 8 (although Ross might query this!)’
Correct, Nimmo got done about 5 times by an umpire (who now hates me) who didn’t understand 2 fundamental parts of the front foot no ball law.
Law 24, 5 (ii) – http://www.lords.org/laws-and-spirit/laws-of-cricket/laws/law-24-no-ball,50,AR.html
If I was Stewart Nimmo I would appeal to the 3rd XI Competitions Committee to have this No Ball tally reduced citing incompetance.

I’m glad I took the catch off Ferg in the last game of the season! Would have hated to be the only player all season not to take an outfield catch.
Any run outs to be reported Skip?

I was going to create a chart about no balls bowled in the second team, but there is just far far too much information – indeed, so much so, that my computer failed to compute the totals as it didn’t believe that so many no balls could be bowled.

I had to teach one of the neutral paid umpires about Law 24, 5 (ii) in ESCA Division One this year too.Spreading the Word!!
Most Run Outs? (Skip & Pres Combo surely?)
Most Drops? (Mike Cousin in one game at Inverleith a shoe in?)
Most Wickets taken wearing navy blue shorts? (Willo!)
Most Runs saved in the field whilst not wearing shoes?
and just to top it off I want to hear the worst and most feeble excuse you’ve been given for not being able to play for the 3s this year?

I’m sure all these things and many others will be discussed at the infamous 3rdXI Curry Night on Saturday 9th October. Invites have gone out to all the senior players and positive responses are flooding in.
Don’t miss out if you played for the 3s this season
